    Hi everybody!
Good to see Renato's name being kept alive and well in discussions on various forums!
Just to set the record straight: my book i not a DEFINITE for 2006! I don't want to jinx anything by setting anything in stone, so let's just say it WILL be done and dusted soon and to keep your eyes peeled...or should i say, prepare to have your eyes peeled? lol

Possibly the reason for RARO not releasing certain titles they announced such as OSCENITA' is because they fear legal backlash? Renato claims ownership on the rights for this and various other films of his to this day and the paperwork is there apparently also. Apparently, RARO have guys working for them now who used to work for NOCTURNO and their DVD/VHS arm. The Nocturno guys asked permission to release the Polselli titles that they did in exchange for paying any rights fees from profits made. Once the video masters were kindly made available to them on this basis of trust, then failed to do so! Nice guys! So, any further release of titles such as OSCENITA' will no doubt be strictly self-released...

I have seen CASA DELL'AMORE...LA POLIZIA INTERVIENE from a screener version of the fully uncut edit that never had video release. This was from the late-Bruno Vani's own personal archive. It is not a very good film, to be honest, and this is probably the result of mix-and-match filmmaking between footage Bruno shot and the material Renato filmed to make something out of it all. Interesting, but not very good really. There is a fight scene at the end that is one of the most insanely bizarre i have seen, i think...a man armed with a chicken fighting a guy with a ladder wrapped around his waste who is swinging it around and around to keep 'cock-man' at bay!
The version of the film from Bruno Vani doesn't contain too much more material than was in the rare Italian TV broadcast and no hardcore footage was shot according to both directors (so if any of the 2 sex cenes mentioned in a previous post were hardcore, they were probably filmed by someone else entirely on request)...same goes for the uncut version of TORINO...

FRIDA, PROFESIONE MANAGER was the last film Renato made and a glossy, whilst still sleazy and peculiar, erotic-drama with psychological edge. The producer and Renato had some run-ins on the project and the financer decide he didn't want it released...

The last two projects Renato had in the pipeline fell through just as they were looking like they had the green-light. Here's hoping that he gets SOMETHING on the go in the near future though as he has said he feels he is getting too old to consider directing anymore...

    >the rare Italian TV broadcast

The Italian tv master with the "B.Vani" logo is the same one that you call "the rare Italian Tv broadcast".

    >the fully uncut edit

Just a speculation of yours. This is the version aired in Italy in the late 70-early 80s.

Bruno Vani's personal recollection provided me with the info on the copy he provided. He stated that no hardcore was ever shot for this film or CASA DELL'AMORE...LA POLIZIA INTERVIENE, something that was confirmed by both himself AND Renato. Any hard footage that may have been seen by people during cinema screenings of either of these films back in the late-1970s would have been edited in either from existing pornographic features or footage put together by someone else. Neither Bruno nor Renato shot hard footage for these films according to them, despite that being the norm for Renato's films of that era...

I also have a master that Renato provided that matches the copy sourced from Bruno and they are identical...

All these things we already know. The inserts were added by distributors or perhaps by the local manager himself.

Ciao Wayne, I'm still waiting for your more-exhaustive Polselli bio/review. Maybe you're too busy writing a new cookery book?
